Our Story
Ashlee and Sean Doheny are the husband-and-wife team behind Cedar & Steam. Their journey wasn’t a straight line — it was built on resilience, a love for wellness, and a dream to create something that truly brings people together.
A little over two years ago, they moved from Minnesota to Colorado, excited for a new chapter. Not long after, their pup Tucker became very sick, and just before his 5th birthday, they had to say goodbye. At the same time, Ashlee was searching for direction after spending over a decade in the fitness industry as a business owner, trainer, and instructor. With no clear next step, it was a season of grief, uncertainty, and asking, what’s next?
Through therapy, coaching, and plenty of trial and error, one truth kept surfacing: what lights them up is creating community, helping people feel better inside and out, and building spaces where connection is at the heart.
That’s when the spark appeared. They discovered a mobile sauna business for sale and decided to try a session. The moment they stepped inside, they were hooked. They reached out right away ready to dive in — only to find it had been sold to someone else.
At that point, they had a choice: let another rejection pull them down, or decide to go all in. Together, they chose the second path. From scratch, they built Cedar & Steam — a space rooted in wellness, connection, and the restorative power of heat and nature.
Today, Cedar & Steam is more than just a sauna experience. It’s a place where people come to recharge, reconnect, and feel better both mentally and physically. Every session is designed with intention, community, and care — because that’s what carried Ashlee and Sean here, and it’s what they are proud to share with every guest.
